Saga pitch | RSA Insurance Group
UI Design | Web Design | Branding
Context and goal
We were tasked with creating a complete quote and buy journey prototype for a client pitch, with a mere two-day turnaround. Considering the project's complexity and the tight deadline, myself (UI designer) and a UX designer knew we had to get creative.
Role and Responsibilities
My role as the UI designer took the decision to Instead of embarking on the risky and time-consuming path of building an entirely new journey from scratch, we opted for a pragmatic approach: repurposing. We leveraged the power of our existing design system, a library of pre-built, tested UI components. By carefully extracting components from a well-tested quote and buy journey within our system, we could rapidly rebrand them to fit the new project's specific needs.
Challenges and approach
This strategic move yielded several benefits. First, it significantly reduced development time. We didn't have to reinvent the wheel – core functionalities were already established and proven. Second, it minimized risks associated with untested interfaces. By reusing a journey with a strong track record, we could be confident in its usability and user-friendliness. Finally, it allowed us to shift our focus. Instead of spending precious hours building the groundwork, we could concentrate on adapting the existing solution to seamlessly integrate with the new project's requirements.
